Emotional wellbeing and mental health

You may feel emotional after having your baby which might include anxiety and feeling low.

If you feel you need additional emotional advice or support please speak to your health visitor, contact our Surrey-wide 0-19 Advice Line or visit a child health drop-in.

Postnatal depression

Postnatal depression can happen at anytime for up to 2 years after giving birth and affects 1 in 8 women. Talking therapies

If you are feeling low, anxious or stressed, Mind Matters Surrey can help. Mind Matters Surrey is a local NHS provider offering free and confidential talking therapies to people aged 17+ registered with a Surrey GP. Visit the Mind Matters Surrey website to find out more.
