Well done to our Immunisations team!

2023 group cropped.jpgCongratulations to the Children and Family Health Surrey Immunisations team for giving more than 99,500 children across Surrey the nasal flu vaccine over this winter period.

The NHS South East region which includes other providers in Sussex and Kent as well as Surrey ranked second in the country for uptake of the flu vaccine.

Magdalena Bourne-Fanti, Clinical Service Manager Immunisations said, “This is such a fantastic achievement, and thanks to the ongoing commitment and outstanding hard work of the nurses, team leaders and amazing administrative team.”

Trudy Mills, Director of Children and Family Health Surrey said, “This is a wonderful achievement and I’m so grateful to the work of the whole Immunisations team for vaccinating so many children against flu across Surrey this season.

“Many thanks to all the nurses and the whole team who work so hard for the children and young people of Surrey.”

This academic year, 70,137 primary school children received the nasal flu immunisation and 469 received the injectable flu vaccine. In secondary schools, 28,669 children received the nasal flu immunisation and 165 received the injectable flu vaccine.
