The aim of the event was to teach children about important issues that are often overlooked by the curriculum, such as personal safety, water safety, rail safety, emotional health and fire safety.
The school nurses delivered a series of 10 minute interactive workshops to approximately 850 year 6 children (aged 10-11 years).
Due to the increasing rise of referrals for emotional health this year, the School Nursing team focused on emotional wellbeing, mindfulness and coping with transition to secondary school.
Julie Liffen, Clinical Team Leader said: “The children all engaged really well and thoroughly enjoyed the session.

Other services involved in the event included: Surrey Police, Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Network Rail and Govia Thameslink and Southern Railway, Hope UK, and Surrey Fire & Rescue Service.
