Changes to our services following some children’s centres closing

Children and Family Health Surrey is working with Surrey County Council and local borough councils across Surrey to continue to  deliver  local community health services, including child health drop-ins and 27 month reviews, following some local children’s centre closures.

In areas where children’s centres have closed or are due to close, we are exploring other local venue options. We will update the Child health drop-in page on our website and inform parents as new venues are confirmed.

The children’s centres closures will not change or reduce the level or types of NHS children’s health services provided in each area, just potentially the venues for some of the drop-ins and clinics.

Please note the following changes:

  • Buckland Children’s Centre: drop-ins taking place at the centre until the end of August.
  • Chobham, Bisley and West End Children's Centre: drop-ins taking place at the centre until 17 July.
  • Clarendon Children’s Centre: drop-ins taking place at the centre until mid-August, with the last drop-in taking place on 13 August. From September drop-ins will take place at the new venue of Ashford Clinic.
  • Claygate Children’s Centre: drop-ins are no longer running due to the closure of Claygate Children's Centre.
  • Epsom Downs Children’s Centre:  drop-ins taking place at the centre until the end of July (Children's Centre will remain open after this date). Nearest alternative drop-in venue in August is Banstead Clinic, and from September will be with Banstead Clinic or at the new venue of Merland Rise Church.
  • Haven Children's Centre: appointments taking place up until 31 July.
  • Horsell Village Children's Centre: drop-ins are no longer running due to the closure of Horsell Village Children's Centre.
