This year we achieved an incredible 71% success rate for our primary school nasal flu immunisation programme, beating last year’s achievement of 68%.
All our Immunisation Teams, 0-19 Teams and administrators worked extremely hard to ensure we reached so many children and we are so grateful for their effort, dedication and commitment in contributing to this achievement.
Over 92,000 children in reception and Years 1, 2, 3 , 4and 5 in state and independent schools across Surrey were offered this immunisation.
With a 71% uptake rate, we substantially exceeded this year’s target of 65%.
Immunising young children reduces the spread of ‘wild flu’ within the community so we can protect the more vulnerable members of our Surrey population.
