Safer Sleep Week

ABCs of safer sleep.jpgSafer Sleep Week 11 - 17 March 2019

Safer Sleep Week is The Lullaby Trust’s national awareness campaign targeting anyone looking after a young baby. It aims to raise awareness of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and the proven advice on how parents can reduce the risk of it occurring.

We know that greater awareness of safer sleep leads to a decrease in the numbers of babies dying. Sadly around 4 babies a week still die from SIDS, and with around 700,000 babies born every year in the UK we need to continue to reach out to all new parents with The Lullaby Trust's safer sleep message.

Following the ABCs for every sleep day and night will help to protect your baby from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) giving you the peace of mind to enjoy this special time.

Keep it simple, keep it safe. All your baby needs for a safer sleep is a cot or Moses basket, firm, flat, waterproof mattress, and a blanket and sheets or baby sleep bag.

Visit The Lullaby Trust's safer sleep advice page to find out how to reduce the risk of SIDS and how to sleep your baby more safely.
