It’s time to take ACTION and quit smoking now.

Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body. It causes lung cancer, respiratory disease and heart disease as well as numerous cancers in other organs including lip, mouth, throat, bladder, kidney, stomach, liver and cervix. Smoking also increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and dementia.

  • Smoking is the nation’s no.1 killer
  • Over 1 in 10 babies are born to mothers who smoke
  • Smoking is the main contributor to health inequalities in England, accounting for over half of the difference in life expectancy between the richest and the poorest

  • Smoking is the largest cause of premature death, killing around 78,000 people in England each year
